Hello, hello!! This one is a favorite to talk about, because even this past year I found some amazing new programs to up my game! Here are seven programs I recommend to help grow your photography business. These programs are also great for using to develop a workflow to send your photos to a private photo editor and blog faster!:
1.Lightroom

Paying monthly to have a Creative Cloud account for Lightroom will always ensure you have the latest, up to date Lightroom program, which is super convenient.Lightroom is my editing powerhouse. I can do almost anything in there except for composites, which can be done with Photoshop Elements.
2. Photoshop Elements

Composites, heavier portrait touch-up, background or things in the background that distract you from the focus in your photos, magazines, brochures, and so much more!
3. Blog Stomp

Let me tell you, this one was a game changer for me this past year! Being able to make pictures into a collage or with a border instantly, by pressing enter or clicking Stomp is amazing. Side by sides, collages, individual pictures with border, looking like high end magazines or blogs, is golden for me. It took me hours before. Now it takes me about 15 minutes or less to "Stomp" a wedding or session.
4. Photo Mechanic

This one is a no brainer for photographers working full time on weddings and sessions. I tried the trial and I am hooked. The link describes it more, but it is a very fast process to sort and cull through your photos, letting your sort by folders, color, rate, etc. It is amazing!
5. Dropbox
www.dropbox.com
Dropbox is essential for sharing smart preview catalogs with private photo editors or folders with photography clients! I absolutely love it.
6. PASS
http://pass.us/
This is next on my list to use! I'm in the process of switching over to this program.
The free program of pass includes: 20 gb of storage, full cart/store access, and mobile app and notifications.
The monthly program includes: unlimited galleries, unlimited storage, full cart/store access, and mobile app and notifications as well.
7. Portraiture for Lightroom
http://www.imagenomic.com/purchase.aspx?product=portraiture
This was just introduced to me in January by a photographer client I edit for. It's an amazing skin smoothing application that can be used with your raw photos. I love it! Especially for newborns and in home/studio sessions.
These are just a few of my favorites and there are so many out there! Choose the right ones for you.
Tips and tricks just because:
* Get an editing screen like Pro Art so you can have a pre-calibrated screen and take the guess work out of what colors are accurate or not.
* Storage- tons of storage- one for your programs. one for your files, ensures your desktop will not crash. Back up everything!
* Prime lenses will take you far. Invest in lenses first and upgrade your camera to a full frame dslr.
