November Recap



You're probably wondering who this cutie is in the picture with me. She's my adorable daught-- er, I mean niece! My niece!!! I got to hold her so much last weekend. πŸ˜‰ I have the funniest surprise story ever. My husband and I schemed to surprise my mom on her birthday last weekend. We bought tickets-- try justfly.com. Amazing deals!!!-- flew in Friday afternoon, and showed up in wigs and disguises to Outback Steakhouse in Pittsburgh. My husband started playing Happy Birthday on the guitar and my kiddos and I joined in singing with him. It was the best feeling ever to see the look of shock, happiness, and tears unfold in a few short seconds on their faces. The.best.surprise.weekend.ever...

November was such a fun month for me! I got to cook my 8th Thanksgiving meal this year, with all the fixings. I totally went for Cracker Barrell's pies from scratch for our desserts this year too. They were soo good!

November is my highest edit month in fall to date, with 34 weddings to edit! Phew!

I'm getting ready for my slower season, with courses, goals, books, and fun family time planned until the next busy season. Mine usually starts back up in February for the crazy busy season again. My average slow season consists of about 1-4 weddings a week, which gives me 2-3 days of work, and is a nice break from 10-12 weddings a week, 5-6 days/wk.
I say it all the time, but I love my job, y'all. It's such a privilege to be able to be on photographer's teams, cheering them on, laughing at the funny moments they captured, & tearing up at the emotional moments as well. I can't explain how exciting it is to open a catalog of photos and seeing the day unfold through someone else's viewpoint. It's awesome and rewarding to be a part of on a small scale. The ability it gives me to be home with my children is also the best part. I don't have to miss the important parts and that makes me smile. πŸ˜ƒπŸ€“

FUN FACTS. If you're new on my page, my name is Jennifer and I'm the face behind my camera. I have been shooting weddings and families for almost 7 years now! Five Outsourcing Tips for Photographers

Happy Monday!! I've been away from blogging on a little blogging break and I'm back, ready to share five tips to help outsource your photo edits smoothly after you've found the right editor. See Part 1 and Part 2 on finding the right private photo editor first if you missed these posts! :-) Tip #1 : Know your style! A private photo editor is mainly for someone who already knows their style, what presets they like to use, their artistic approach, and so on! Our job is to match your style, not create one for you. Tip #2: Work on SOOC and Your Pre-Edits SOOC= Straight out of camera. Providing those anchor images for each scenario at a wedding or session really helps us to know what you want your photos to look like. An Amazing Break!

I had the most amazing Thanksgiving break with my sister and her family who came to TX from PA. And let me tell you, my sister introduced me to a power couple  # chipgaines  and  # joannagaines . We went to Magnolia Market and had a blast! I got some cupcakes and a t shirt, haha. I could literally smell their bakery over a block away. The line was long but the wait time wasn't too bad! These cupcakes were  # wortheverycalorie . They were THAT good! Don't worry, I shared with my boys.  πŸ˜‚  Busy season is almost over for me and I am definitely looking forward for the break off until January 2nd. I worked my busiest season yet this fall. Last year couldn't hold a candle to this year, and I thought I was busy then! Phew!  πŸ’₯ Over the break I will be working on starting a very special series that I can't wait to share with you all!!
