October Was My Busy Season

Y'all, October was crazy busy, but in a good way. I finally have a system down where I'm not glued to my computer and I'm able to do all the things I want, including family time, fun nights, cooking, and workouts (beachbody is my favorite). It includes waking up at 5am, but to be off in the evening with my kiddos and husband is worth it to me! I kicked my coffee addiction for good now. I never thought I would say it's been eight weeks since I stopped consuming cups of coffee a day. Energize is my go to drink in the morning now!

I added up the other night how many weddings I edited in October, and it was 30! Phew! My average catalogs are 500-1000 images. I always put my images edited on my monthly tracker along with images sent. Here's the official stats: Actual images edited: 16,229 out of 18,105 sent. The images not edited are anchor images sent to me so I know exactly how that photographer wants their photos edited.

October was my busy season. But I checked tonight, and I already have edited 15 weddings in November. So move over, October. November may be busier! ;-)

I had a fun mom's night out the other week out to eat with my good friend (aka partner in crime) and the we joined a group of friends for Painting with a Twist. This was our group that went together. We made up about 1/3 of the class that night! It was fun! I'm the 6ft1in giant in the back row. πŸ˜ƒ These are just mobile pics. :-)

I can't say enough how incredibly thankful I am to be able to do all.the.things. and still be able to be there for my family, take care of my health, cook yummy meals, and work at home. This is crazy and I'm blessed. It's all because of wonderful clients like you!

I only have two full time spots left for 2018, for two wedding photographers who edit in Lightroom, looking for someone to be on their team. Check out my website for more details and send me an email. I'd love to hear from you! :-)

Fun Facts

FUN FACTS. If you're new on my page, my name is Jennifer and I'm the face behind my camera. I have been shooting weddings and families for almost 7 years now! My oldest boy inspired me to take photos when he turned 1 and good old Pinterest came out. Am I showing my age?  πŸ™Š  I was inspired to shoot weddings after I made the mistake of having someone with a fancy camera take our wedding photos! If you ever talk to me, you'll know that that's a no, no! You can't repeat your day o f wedding photos.  But, thankfully my husband and I were able to do anniversary pictures a few years ago and I'm so thankful we did that! I love so many and have so many favorites from that shoot. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € Some things about me: I love peanut butter, I love to sing in the car by myself, I am over 6ft tall- yep! I'm practically a giant, haha. My husband ordered a ring off of a guy online and he tried to cheat him out of a ring. Long story short, my first wedding ring en...

Five Outsourcing Tips for Photographers

Happy Monday!! I've been away from blogging on a little blogging break and I'm back, ready to share five tips to help outsource your photo edits smoothly after you've found the right editor. See Part 1 and Part 2 on finding the right private photo editor first if you missed these posts! :-) Tip #1 : Know your style! A private photo editor is mainly for someone who already knows their style, what presets they like to use, their artistic approach, and so on! Our job is to match your style, not create one for you. Tip #2: Work on SOOC and Your Pre-Edits SOOC= Straight out of camera. Providing those anchor images for each scenario at a wedding or session really helps us to know what you want your photos to look like. The more you work on SOOC, the easier it is to actually make a preset for your photos too! A lot of my seasoned photographers have custom presets they use. I always suggest a sample anchor or two for each part of the day or different background. I also ask ...

Well Hello Again, Monday!

HELLO MONDAY. I'm actually feeling pretty good this morning! Here's a cute pic of my boys and one of my favorite flowers besides tulips- bluebonnets!!! β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € I started using the Fitbit 3 this weekend to set alarms, track my activity, water intake, & get moving a lot more than just my workouts. Sitting in front of a computer daily: editing, creating content, and all.the.things of behind the scenes during your work day really adds up. Working from home can sometimes be HARDER for me to make time for myself. Because I am my own boss, and have a list of things to do, it seems to grow like the infamous "honey do" list and I try to wear all the hats. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € This weekend I took time to finish up a mini video tutorial.
